Iraqi-Syrian relations in light of the international intervention strategy

The relations have gone through periods of stability and tension due to the differences of views and interests of the two ruling political regimes in both countries during the pre-2003 and beyond. These relations fell under the influence of many local, regional and international influences. The international influences weighed heavily on Iraqi relations. Especially those influences were driven by international strategies, especially by the major international powers the United States of America and the Russian Federation (the former Soviet Union) and those forces were able to intervene through the use of strategies and tightly for the sake of The two powers were able to employ humanitarian intervention in order to achieve political, economic, military and security objectives to protect their national interests and as indicated by the global strategies that were formulated after the end of the war Cold and post - September 2001 events.
