The Iraqi – Turkish Relations and Its Impact on The stability of Iraq

Abstract

The Iraqi-Turkish relations are characterized as Vibrated through history, as there are cultural, economic, religious, and even racial relations that connect the two countries. The relations has continued as Iraq has made a strategic alliance with Turkey, in addition to the economic and political agreements between the two sides. But with the beginning of the nineties of the last century these relations witnessed, a kind of tension especially after Iraq's invasion to Kuwait in August 1990. When the Gulf war happened, it assured the tension between the two countries, and revealed the Turkish tendencies in profiteering from that to achieve its goals in the region
